STEM Toy for 3 to 6 year olds - Cubetto

What's the big deal about coding for young kids? Simple, coding is the new language of the 21st century. However, this language does not separate us by water or by the time it takes to cross a continent. It's here with us right now and its use is growing every day.

Young kids can understand coding basics by learning the key terminologies and the structure a piece of code should take. And they can do all this all without using a screen. Key terms for coding kiddos are:

  • Algorithms
  • Logic
  • Tinkering
  • Debugging
Teaching your child (and maybe yourself) how to code will develop your child
  • Build confidence.
  • Develop problem-solving skills.
  • Encourage collaboration.
  • Nurture their creativity.
  • Increase persistence.
  • Demystifies technology.

You can find some very cool toys out there to help you out. The UK Toy of The Year, Cubetto is one of them.

If you're a teacher thinking of using the Cubetto in the classroom, you cant go wrong. Kids get super excited about playing with a robot and its a breeze to get simple programming sequences underway.
